3 Awesome Date Ideas for Married Couples

Brett and I are getting to the age where we need to stop partying so much.  He turned 30 and I turned 29 for the first time this past November.  We are still partying as much as we had in our early 20's, but at least are recognizing that we need to spend more time alone with each other, especially on the weekends.

We agreed - "We need to have more date nights."

The hard part is coming up with new ideas for date nights.  When we can't think of anything fun to do with just ourselves, we immediately call friends.  We kind of got tired of the typical date night ideas (dinner & a movie, drinks & board games... yawn).

But the good news is, I spent some time researching and found some great ideas.  So - here are my top 3!

3 Awesome Date Ideas for Married Couples

#1: Date in a Box:
Cardstore.com's blog had a great post about date night ideas in fun DIY dates in a box.   Stay-at-home dates with a cute spin!  My favorite idea there was a home spa night - wine, bubble bath, chocolates, oils - wink!

Looking for more date in a box ideas, I found a site that I absolutely LOVED and am thinking about trying.  (If you've tried it let me know, would love to know how it turned out).  It's called Datelivery.com - they literally deliver you & your significant other a date in the box idea every month!  Isn't that awesome?!

My favorite idea there from their past date in the box examples was an Iron Chef Pizza Challenge date in a box - ha!  Which I put as #2:

#2: Iron Chef Challenge:
Pick your favorite ingredient that you and your significant other love (for us, it's cheese) - go shopping to get the ingredients you need, and compete against each other in who can come up with the best easy dish!

#3: Throwback 90's Night - Be a Kid Again!
With Vintage being such a trendy thing recently, I thought it might be fun to plan a 'kid again' night.  Getting a bunch of junk food and playing games that we were obsessed with when we were young.  NES or Sega old-school games are at the top of that list, but if I could find a copy of one of the old-school board games that he used to love, that would be SWEET!  For example, he used to love Fireball Island.  There's this awesome post about the top 1990's board games you (probably) don't remember that will give you a lot of great ideas.
