Josh Gordon Denies Second Failed Drug Test - Suspension Pending

Are you kidding me?  Only in Cleveland can a major Draft pickup like Johnny Football (now Johnny Cleveland) be upset the next day with rumors of Josh Gordon season suspension.

Josh Gordon - the best wide receiver in the NFL - may be benched for the season resulting in a wave of heartbreak and very early shattered dreams across Cleveland, Ohio.

ESPN reports that Gordon denies knowing anything about the test or the rumors:

"That's something you're going to have to talk to [agent] Drew Rosenhaus about. I really don't know anything about it."

Asked whether he planned to dispute the test, Gordon said: "I'm going to have to find out about that later. You need to call Drew."

Drew denies the rumors, of course - but this story is very believable knowing that Gordon was sidelined just this past season for failing a drug test for Codeine (which... he denied was for recreational use, of course).

Cleveland must have done something in the past few months to offend God, because our season may have been slayed already - breaking this news on our city only a single day after the  most optimistic day of the year for Browns Fans.

The publicity across major sports & news stations, with continued jabber throughout the Draft makes me think that this is being blown up intentionally to make an example of Gordon.  If a failed Marijuana test can sideline the best wide receiver in the league for an entire season, then all other players take notice

Thank goodness this happened during the draft so Browns have time to recover another solid wide receiver for the year in case this does wind up kicking Gordon out for the season.  However, if this is true, regardless of who is picked up, the damage would be devastating.

Cleveland Browns Opener Adventure 2013

Even though we may not have won this year, the Browns opener was still a helluva good time!
From the Muni Lot to the after party - here's our Browns opener adventure this year in photos:

We got to the Muni Lot at maybe 10am?  We were a bit late, but still plenty of time to pre game!

This is just Brett and me - aren't we cute?  Very excited.

This is the first site of the Lot - crowded with tons of awesome Browns fans!

We set up shop with a few friends already down there.  Evidently there's a new-ish law that you can't bring alcohol into Muni Lot... but there were tons of cops around seeing sites much worse than this, and nothing really happened.  Maybe it's just a law on paper?  You do definitely have to have cups with you - I think you do get cited if you drink from the can/bottle itself.

Loved this! A bit too extreme for us at 11am, so we didn't participate, but loved the idea of a two-story beer bong for the more daring Browns fans.

This was a new one! Keg bowling!  We saw this close to where the "Browns Bunch" group set up shop.  Tons of spectators watching a few dudes hurl empty kegs at bowling pins - ha!

There were a TON of dogs - of course - rooting on the dawg pound.  I didn't get a great shot of this one, but this was the friendliest cutest dog in the entire world.

TOTALLY surprised there were so many kids - AND babies - in Muni Lot this year!  One super proud Browns Dad paraded his new born daughter around, holding her up next to his head like the game ball! Crazy, right?!

Photo of all the boys in their gear - love it :)

And then on to the game!  This was the view from our seats - right below the score board.  Lots of awesome people up there.

Especially us!

Would love to show you the video of The Presidents of the United States of America playing, "Peaches," because that was the ridiculously awesome half time show, but I'm a little lazy right now and will upload later.

Some of the other photos from the game didn't turn out so well, just sad faces mostly because we were unfortunately getting whooped by the Dolphins.  They beat us 23-10... :(

Then off to the after party!  We walked around until we found some room to breathe - in the Corner Alley.  We ate our faces off... and drank more.  That's Brett & his brother Bryan.

Then off to Bar Louie to find more people to hang out with. It's crazy how many people go out on a Sunday night... but then again, it is football season.

All in all we walked more than 5 miles around Cleveland! Which is awesome - that means we burned over 500 calories at least (but sucks when you think that that really only burned off 5 beers - oh well!).

Phil Dawson: Goodbye, and Good Luck

The Cleveland Browns are moving toward younger players in the prime of their career, and with that let veteran and adored kicker, Phil Dawson, slip through their fingers.  According to the Plain Dealer, Phil signed a one year contract with the 49ers on Tuesday, March 19th, 2013.  He finally has a chance at the Super Bowl, but every Browns fan has a heavy heart today as 'Mr. Dependable' aka 'Automatic Phil' aka my favorite Browns player becomes our favorite ex-Browns kicker.

It's so hard to see you, go, Phil.  You will truly be missed.
